Welcome to The Craft & Kids Club!
Who’s the Craft & Kids Club for?
My Art & Craft classes are designed exclusively for creative minds aged 8 – 13. Whether your child is already passionate about art and craft or just dipping their toes into getting crafty, my classes are tailored to inspire young creative minds to experiment with materials, use their imaginations and most of all, have fun!
I offer a space where your child can develop their creative skills and use their imaginations in a different environment to school. Unlike heavily structured art classes at most schools, my classes are small (no more than 10 students per class) with no focus on assessment or finished products. Your child will be free to experiment with lots of different media (paints, pens, markers!), materials (paper, card, clay and more!) and methods (painting, drawing, sculpting) with just a little guidance from me.
Who runs the class?
Hi! I’m Adelle. I’m an Art teacher with over 15 years of experience working in schools teaching kids all about Art and making. I’m also a mum to two young kids, so I know how challenging it can be to find an extra curricular activity that’s affordable, will help them develop life long skills and most of all, enjoy!
What do kids do in the classes?
Every class will focus on an artist as our inspiration. We will look at their artworks and talk about what media, materials and methods the artist used (this is limited to about 5 minutes. I know how long (or short) kids’ attention spans can be! We then jump into making. One lesson could be exploring painting, another sculpting. Every lesson will focus on introducing kids to exciting new and fun art and craft making techniques! At the beginning of each term, you will receive a course outline, so your child knows what’s coming up!
Some topics we will explore:
Painting
Pastels
Printmaking
Sculpting
Drawing
Collage
Where are the classes held?
McDonald Hall, Murrumbeena Uniting Church, 117 Murrumbeena Rd, Murrumbeena VIC
Weather permitting workshops may also be held in the beautiful Murrumbeena Community Garden
When are classes held?
Classes are held once a week after school from 4.30 – 6pm. Craft & Kids club will run to the school term schedule (usually around 10 weeks)
Exact day will be confirmed when a class of 10 has enrolled.
How long do the classes run?
All classes run for 1.5 hours.
What will kids need for the class?
You don’t need to supply any art supplies for your child! Easy! All materials will be supplied for each class participant.
I will supply art smocks for messy classes but I do recommend that kids wear clothes that can get dirty and stained.
You may like to supply a small nut free snack for your child. (I know how important after school snacks are!)
How much does the club cost?
Each class is $35. You will be invoiced at the beginning of each term and your full term payment will secure your child’s enrolment.
What happens if my child can’t attend a class?
If your child cannot attend a class for whatever reason, please email me as soon as you can. Class fees cannot be refunded but I’ll make sure to put aside all class materials in a pack for your child so they can do the activity at home another time.
What happens next after I register my child?
Your little artist will be placed into a group of no more than 10 artists. When a class of 10 has been filled, I will email you further information about exact day of the week and term start date 🙂
By the way, what’s the Craft & CAKE club?
The Craft & CAKE Club is the grown up version of my Craft & Kids club. Grab some friends and come along to one of my adult workshops. There’s art, craft and free cake! Why should kids have all the fun?! 😀
